WebJul 27, 2024 · 2024 F250 Just got home with mine. Moderate ride home, mostly flat highway. Wasn't going easy on the throttle, but wasn't flooring it either. WebMay 7, 2024 · What the 10 speed brings is an updated 2.7 with port and direct injection and a superb towing/hauling transmission. You have a tough decision! Chose what you will use it for. KM IMO the 17-20's with the 3.5EB didn't need the 10 speed as much as the 5.0 engine does 1st gear ratio with the Gen2 3.5 EB 10 speed is kind of a waste IMO!! My question is, would I be better of with a 2024 10-speed … WebAug 15, 2024 · One of our work F150 trucks has the 5.4 triton V8, 6 speed transmission, has aftermarket 4.10 gears, it tows our 12,000 work trailer up a 7% hill well. Our newer F150 (3.5L turbo V6 and 5.0L V8) both have 3.55 gears and they struggle more towing 12,000 pounds up the 7% hill by work.
WebAug 30, 2024 · Side note: The loaner vehicle I was given was a 2024 Ford F-250 6.7L Powerstroke with the same 10-speed transmission. While I drove it for about 300 miles, waiting on the repair of my truck, I monitored the trans temp out of curiosity. It typically ran 198-202 or so on interstate and surface streets and occasionally up to about 212.

I'm sure the 1000 pound weight difference and redesigned engine has nothing to do with the F150 getting better mpg.... Two COMPLETELY different vehicles.
